City Lake is the main storage reservoir, which was put into service in 1899 with a storage capacity of 726 million gallons. Water from the New Canaan Reservoir, Rock Lake, and Middlebrook Diversion all feed into City Lake. The water from here gets piped into the Filtration Plant to undergo the filtration process.
